Mossy Rock Ranch spans nearly 2,900 acres in Brown County near Cross Plains, Texas, in the heart of the Rolling Plains. Since its founding in 2010, our mission has been to produce exceptional wildlife while promoting responsible stewardship and conservation.

What began as a premier whitetail breeding operation has evolved into one of Texas's leading exotic hoofstock programs. In 2023, we transitioned our full focus to exotic wildlife, allowing us to dedicate our resources to breeding some of the industry's finest genetics. Today, Mossy Rock Ranch is home to 33 species of exotic hoofstock, with an emphasis on quality, sustainability, and the long-term success of our customers.

CONSERVATION

Conservation is at the heart of what we do. Many of the species raised at Mossy Rock Ranch face significant challenges in their native habitats, making responsible breeding programs more important than ever.

Our ranch is home to endangered species including Grevy's zebra, Arabian oryx, Addax, Scimitar-horned oryx, and Red lechwe. Through ethical breeding and responsible wildlife management, we are proud to contribute to the preservation of these remarkable animals.

SELECTIVE BREEDING

Selective breeding has always been a cornerstone of Mossy Rock Ranch. Drawing on years of experience developing elite whitetail genetics, we apply the same disciplined approach to our exotic breeding programs.

Our primary focus includes Cape buffalo, Kudu, Sable, Roan, Impala, Nyala, and Fallow deer. By carefully selecting genetically superior sires with outstanding horn and antler characteristics, exceptional conformation, and strong overall performance, we strive to consistently produce animals that set the standard for quality.
