Physical Description:

Adult lechwe typically stand 35” to 39” at the shoulder and generally weigh from 110 to 260 lbs, with males being larger than females. The males have long, spiral horns are vaguely lyre-shaped that are typically 27” to 37” in length.



Reproduction:

Females give birth to 1 calf per breeding season.
Gestation period last 240 days (8 months).



Native Range Land:

Red Lechwe is native to Botswana, Zambia, the South-Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, North-Eastern Namibia, and Eastern Angola, especially in the Okavango Delta, Kafue Flats, and the Bangweulu Swamps.
