Physical Description:
The Nyala is a spiral-horned and middle-sized antelope, between a bushbuck and a kudu. It is considered the most sexually dimorphic antelope. The Nyala is typically between 53” to 77” in head-and-body length. The male stands up to 3.5ft tall, the female is up to 3ft tall. Males weigh 215 to 275 lbs, while females weigh 120 to 150 lbs.
Reproduction:
Females give birth to a single calf per breeding season.
Gestation period last 210 days (7 months).
Native Range Land:
Nyala range includes Southern Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Eastern South Africa.
