Physical Description:

Adult Blesbok stand up to 32” to 40” at shoulder height with a head to body length of around 5ft 2”. Adult males weigh around 170 lbs; while females average lower, at around 150 lbs. The length of the horns for a trophy Blesbok are 14” to 18”.



Reproduction:

Females give birth to a single calf per breeding season.
Gestation period last 240 days (8 months).



Native Range Land:

The Blesbok is endemic to Southern Africa and is found in large numbers in all national parks with open grasslands, North of the Vaal River southwards through the Free State, to the Eastern Cape. It is a plains species and dislikes wooded areas. It was first described in the 17th century, in bountiful herds
